"Love and the Law, Terms of Endearment, A Panel Discussion"

Five professional women join forces to discuss "Love and the Law," a review of family and estate planning law for singles and couples, whether married or living in committed relationships. The panel discussion will start with networking at 5:30 p.m., discussion from 6-7 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Donations of $5 to $10 asked to benefit a domestic violence charity in Marin.

Speakers will be attorney and mediator Joann Babiak, CPA Alexia Cloutier, Estate Planning attorney Jennifer Cowan, and Psychologist Melanie Greenberg. Certified Financial Planner Kathleen Nemetz will be host and moderator. She also produces the Women On Money (TM) talk show airing on CMCM TV, Marin County.

The charity to be benefited is the 501 3-c organization, Community Violence Solutions, serving Marin and Contra Costa Counties.

"Social Security and Retirement Income"

Join us for a six-star panel discussion with guests realtor Roberta Di Prete, the Atherton Brokerage; contractor and home rental specialist Ellen Nicosia, Lilypad.org; banker Karen Hawkey, Opus Bank; Social Security attorney Georgeana Roussos; and reverse mortgage banker Homa Rassouli, RFS Lends. We will address how to fund retirement using income sources form investments, reverse mortgages, rentals, and Social Security. Opportunities and pitfalls of each will be discussed. Tax treatment will be reviewed of retirement vs. trust accounts, passive income, and loan income. Effects of divorce will be discussed, with regard to benefits for Social Security and division of retirement assets.

Starts at 5:30 with networking, 6 p.m. panel discussion. 7:00-7:30 p.m. more networking. 7:30 p.m. Close. Donations benefit the Novato chapter of the American Association of University Women, benefiting their scholarship fund for girls. Please plan on a $10 donation at the door. Tax deductible.

The event is co-sponsored with the Women's Collective of Marin, sponsoring educational talks for women, by women, on topics women care about.
